Trail West Workshop
On Wednesday the 20th August we travelled to Salen Primary School to see Trail West. When we arrived at Salen school we went into the big hall and Ulva had already got there, but we were before Salen. On some seats at the front were Ian the accordionist and Seonaidh the guitarist. We learnt the chorus and the first verse of Ar Canan ‘s ar Ceol. the chorus was relatively easy but the verse was harder. The song we learnt, is for the Mod on the beach. Then Ian played two songs on the accordion and everyone clapped and stamped their feet and a little girl started dancing. All of the children were invited to do Strip the Willow at the end. I enjoyed learning the song because it was not too hard. (Hannah P7)

On Wednesday 20th August 2025 we went to Salen to see Ian and Seonaidh from the band Trail West. When we got there we all sat down in the hall, then they started teaching us the song we’re going to sing on the beach for the Mod. Then Ian played a song on his accordion and everyone clapped along to the beat. After that everyone did strip the willow. I had fun and I liked it, but I didn’t like how loud it was. (Tyler P6)
We went to Salen to see Trial West and we saw Ian and Seonaidh, it was fun. We sang songs and we got to hear their song. It was so cool and they did a song so fast, it was nice, I could not believe my eyes. Then we were dancing, it was funny and I was dizzy. Then we sang more. It was too loud, everyone’s ears fell off, even mine fell off! (Autumn P4)
