Sports Day and Tag Rugby

Sports Day

Sports Day was on Tuesday 7th June. I competed in all races which were long jump, 400 metres, 200 metres, 100 metres, egg and spoon, hoop on head and bean bag between knees. I enjoyed the 100 metres because it was just a sprint, and I also enjoyed long jump because it was really fun. It links to the right to play, leisure and culture because we got to have play time and do different sports events. (Hannah)

My blog is about sports day. I was scared and nervous because I didn’t want to be last again like last year. I took part in the running race, I enjoyed achieving my goal. I also achieved getting a 1st place in the egg and spoon race. This made me feel happy and proud of myself. I got two 2nd place stickers, one was for shotput and one was for balancing a hoop on my head. I really had fun supporting my friends and they supported me. You all have the right to be supported and respected. I am looking forward to next sports day. (Shylah)

I enjoyed the obstacle course, lunch with Mhairi and helping Jessica with the 200m. I did not like the run around the pitch. (Autumn)

Tag Rugby

On Wednesday we went to Tag Rugby. When we got there all the other schools were doing the warm up, so we rushed in, put our bags down and joined in. We were split in to groups, I was with Archie and a few other people. Our first game was against Isla and Hannah’s team, they won. I scored a try, then we went in for snack. I had some fruit and a mini brownie that had Smarties in, it was very yummy. One of the teachers said we could go out and play. My team were called out to the pitch to go up against the The Lions, Caitlin was in that team so I felt bad for taking the ball from her but I also wanted to score a try. In the end, I did score a try. I really enjoyed that part. I went on a little break to play and have lunch. After lunch, I got a hot dog and a hot chocolate with marshmallows and whipped cream. At the end, we played kids vs adults. The kids won! (Lucille)

At tag rugby, I was in the Bulls group. It was fun in the bulls group. I met Lucy from Iona Primary, she was nice, she is P5. I enjoyed winning the game so my team got a trophy but only the leader got to take it home. I enjoyed being in a team with Hannah. (Isla)

We went to tag rugby. First, we played a fun game and then it was snack time. Then we played another game and I was it but I kept dropping the ball. Then it was lunchtime and I had a milkshake but the line was so long. The bit I enjoyed was when we played rugby with the adults. The bit I did not enjoy was when I ran out of breath. (Layla)
