Report written by P3-7
We all walked to the shore for a beach clean. First we all put our water bottle at our rocky spot and we walked along the shore until it was not safe to go further. We went around picking up rubbish like cans, bags, plastic and rope.
To pick it up, we used litter pickers and bag hoop made with recycled plastic that we won for Eco competition from GRAB. Leo pretended that the ring was a mouth eating the rubbish.
The distance that we cleaned was 15.3 metres and we measured it with a trundle wheel.
When we got back to school, we weighed the rubbish. It was 5kg, then we sorted it and counted how much of each piece there was.
A few days later we made a graph showing the rubbish we found.

We used Numeracy skills that we have been working on, these were measuring, counting, sorting, adding and data handling.

Article 24 (health and health services)
Every child has the right to the best possible health. Governments must provide good quality health care, clean water, nutritious food, and a clean environment and education on health and well-being so that children can stay healthy. Richer countries must help poorer countries achieve this.
Article 29 (goals of education)
Education must develop every child’s personality, talents and abilities to the full. It must encourage the child’s respect for human rights, as well as respect for their parents, their own and other cultures, and the environment.
