On Monday 4th May, we had a community Café because we were opening a fresh Nature Trail. We re-opened it because we have made new boards and a new map with a theme of Nature within the Lochdon area.

We started to prepare for it after lunch by moving chairs, tables and cakes outside. The reason we were having the café outside was because we were walking along the Nature Trail. We also got our jobs ready; I was a waitress and seater.

Around 5 minutes in, it was jam packed with people, luckily the tables and benches were well spread out from each other.

When the café started at 1.30, we all got our jobs, I was a cake server (not going to lie, it was very tempting to not eat the cakes, but I resisted!) Once everyone had eaten their cakes, we he had a raffle – there were lots of raffle prizes!

I baked a strawberry cream cake; there was none left after the café finished! I did get to try some though, it was so good.

After the raffle, we got ready for going on the Nature Trail. We had to wear a high-vis vest and walk in partners or with family members, but first we had to open the Nature Trail. I held one end of the ribbon because I am the oldest in the school and Katie held the other side of the ribbon because she is the youngest. Jan, who helped us with the Nature Trail by painting the and building the posts, cut the ribbon for us. After the ribbon was cut, we walked along the trail.
