Report written by P4-7
Marion MacLean, the Active School Co-ordinator, came in on Wednesday to talk about the Football World Cup. Scotland is going to America to play in the World Cup this year, and we think they have the best team they have had for a long time. To celebrate this, and as part of World Ceilidh Week, we learned three dances: Dashing White Sergeant, Canadian Barn Dance and Strip the Willow. Ceilidhs are part of the Scottish culture and celebrating events. After we learned the dances, we coloured in flags from all around the world to celebrate the World Cup.

Lucy – Strip the Willow was my favourite because it was very active.
Isla – I liked the Canadian Barn Dance because it was easy and straightforward to learn but also fun to take part in.
Layla – The Canadian Barn Dance was my favourite because it was fun.
Anna – I liked the Dashing White Sergeants because I liked doing the little foot kicks.
Shylah – I liked the Canadian Barn Dance just because I enjoyed it.
Hannah – Strip the Willow was my favourite because we got to fling people around!
Jayden – I liked Strip the Willow because I liked getting spun around
Tyler – My favourite was the Strip the Willow because I was flying.
Seonaidh – Strip the Willow was my favourite because I liked it and you got to fling people around.
Sophia – I liked Strip the Willow because I liked seeing people get flung.
Olivia – Canadian Barn Dance was my favourite.
Derwyn – I liked the Dashing White Sergeant because I liked spinning round and round.
Finlay, Andrew and Òran – We liked the Canadian Barn Dance because we liked spinning around.
Harrison – I liked Strip the Willow because it was fun.
